Anna Lee Halderman Biography
Anna Lee Halderman is a 28-year-old Norwalk woman and the daughter of former CBS News producer Robert “Joe” Halderman, who was arrested and charged with breach of peace and risk of injury to a minor for allegedly stripping down naked at Compo Beach in Westport on July 15 in front of her young child.

Anna is the daughter of former CBS News producer Robert “Joe” Halderman, he was the producer of “48 Hours”. In 2010 he was sentenced to six months in jail for trying to extort former late-night funnyman David Letterman for $2 million to keep quiet about the “Late Show” host’s sexual affairs.
Joe had found a diary belonging to ex-girlfriend and longtime Letterman assistant Stephanie Birkitt that proved the two were having an affair — one of several female workers the comic bedded as part of his infamous 2009 sex scandal.

On July 15, 2019 at about 1:30 p.m. a concerned beachgoer called the police to complain about Anna Halderman for sunbathing without a bikini top with a young child nearby.
According to Westport police, the concerned beachgoer confronted Halderman after he observed her remove the top portion of her bathing suit to tan. He believed the behavior was inappropriate for a public beach and after he confronted her she allegedly ” became belligerent and proceeded to remove the bottom portion of her bathing suit exposing her buttocks”. The incidence occurred in front of her juvenile child. The statement also adds that at the time Anna was intoxicated.
The police statement said; “Officers responded to Compo Beach on what was reported by the complainant as an indecent exposure. The caller reported to officers that she had observed a female on the beach remove the top portion of her bathing suit to tan. Believing that this behavior was inappropriate for a public beach, this individual attempted to confront the woman about what she was doing.
Upon speaking with this individual and attempting to convey her concerns, the woman allegedly became belligerent and proceeded to remove the bottom portion of her bathing suit exposing her buttocks. The complainant was with her juvenile child at the time, who apparently witnessed this entire incident. The complainant reported that in addition to her inappropriate behavior this woman appeared to her to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the interaction.
An extensive investigation by an officer led to the identification of the suspect in this incident as Anna Lee Halderman. In a subsequent interview with Halderman she stated that she did not recall what she may have done on the date in question, but apologized for her behavior. An arrest warrant was sought and granted for Halderman in connection with this incident.”

On August 17, 2019 Ann Halderman surrendered to Westport police and was charged with second-degree breach of peace and risk of injury to a minor. She was released after posting bond on court-set bail of $50,000, and she is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Aug. 23.
