Charley Clayton, a renowned Marketing Specialist at Hollywood Bowl, is reported to have passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022. She was a Fairmont native and participated in several beauty pageants throughout her life. Clayton was a student at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, where she is studying sports, art and entertainment management. He joined the school in 2014 and graduated in April 2018.
Clayton also worked as Unit Marketing Coordinator Unit Marketing Coordinator
at Sodexo in Morgantown (Dec 2018 – Mar 2020), Mainstage Morgantown, where she worked partly as a Promoter, Box Office where she was responsible for sales of tickets in person/will-call procedures and as a Graphic Designer.

She worked as a Bar Manager in Orange County, CA, for the Coast Hospitality Group starting Oct 2020. Clayton also worked as a Marketing Specialist for The Hollywood Bowl from Mar 2020 in LA. Her roles included Coordinating and implementing all unit marketing initiatives to drive sales growth, among others. She also worked as a Freelance Graphic Designer starting Jan 2019 and was skilled in Canva as per her Linkedin.
Charley Clayton Pageant
Back in 2014, she was crowned the Mannington District Fair Queen and was an outstanding Queen that represented the community with kindness and grace.
In 2017, she placed first runner-up out of 78 contestants at the annual West Virginia Association of Fairs and Festivals (WBAFF). The pageant contest was held in Charleston Civic Center on Jan.
Clayton has competed at the WVAFF pageant four times with four different titles, with this being her last chance to compete due to the age restriction.
She also participated in the Miss West Virginia United States pageant in March 2018, which was held at Fairmont State University.
Charley Clayton Death & Cause
Clayton’s death was first reported on Monday, July 18, 2022. The Mannington District Fair Queen Pageant wrote in a tribute, “We are devasted to learn about the loss of Charley Clayton, 2014 Mannington District Fair Queen. She was an outstanding Queen that represented our community with kindness and grace. She made it known that she loved being our queen, which shined through in everything she did for us. We are sending our love and prayers to her entire family.”
Joel Weidner wrote in a Tribute, “Today I found out that one of the girls that was a titleholder for me when I was a state director passed away. I’m deeply saddened by the loss of Queen Beauty Ohio Charley Clayton. She was so full of life and was so cheerful all the time. I remember meeting her face to face for the first time and was so impressed with her.”
He further said, “She had that likeability factor, and she gave 110%. My heart goes to her mom Cathy and her family and the pageant family in West Virginia. You were such a beautiful & vibrant girl. The pictures in this post are how I remember such a beautiful bright spirit that she had. She lived her life to the fullest. I remember her and me talking about when she was moving out to California, a girl from West Virginia, and she moved all the way out to Los Angeles, California, by herself and thought, boy she has more courage and guts than I ever would move there. But that was Charley. RIP Charley. You have won your final crown in heaven.”
