David Sparks Savannah Spurlock
Savannah Spurlock was a 22-year-old Kentucky woman who went missing on January 4, 2019. She was a mother of four and lived with her mother in Richmond, Kentucky. She was last seen leaving the bar with three men she met in the bar. David Sparks was one of the men with Savannah.
Savannah’s mother, Ellen Spurlock told the police that she spoke with Savannah via Facetime at around 3 a.m. on January 4. She said she was in a car with at least three other people.
“She told me she was fine. When I asked her where she was, she said she was in Lexington. She promised she would be home later that morning. She did not seem out of the ordinary. I don’t know anything about her relationship with the men that she was with. When she Facetimed me I did not recognize the gentleman driving the car. I had never seen him before. I could not see who was in the back of the car because it was so dark out. But I heard voices talking over each other — that’s how I knew there were at least two individuals in the back seat of the vehicle.”
According to LEX 18 Savannah was seen on a neighbour’s surveillance video walking into a home that Sparks had rented in Lancaster the night she vanished, but she wasn’t seen walking out of it.
Savannah Spurlock Remains Found In David Sparks Property
According to David’s arrest document police received a tip around 5 p.m. when a man called his attorney to report a foul odour coming from David’s property. This prompted the police to search the property as Sparks “is the primary suspect in a missing persons investigation.”
Human remains were found in the property. The Kentuck State Police released a statement saying they found human remains at a property located at Fall Lick and Perkins Lane, which is Sparks’ family’s home (LEX 18 reported it’s Sparks’ parents’ property).
“The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was called just before 5:00 pm on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 after a tip was received in reference to possible human remains that were on a property in Garrard County.
The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Police Department, Lancaster Police Department, Garrard County Police Department, and the FBI responded to the location on Fall Lick Road in Garrard County, and conducted a coordinated search of the property. As a result of the search, human remains were located, and have been taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy and identification.”
The police added that they could not divulge a lot of information as the case was sensitive.
“Due to the sensitive nature of this type of investigation, we can’t get into the specifics. What I can say though is the human remains were located outside and recovered from the ground.”
