David Turner Death

David died on September 18, 2019 in a California bus crash carrying country musician Josh Turner’s road crew. The bus left the road and crashed leaving seven other occupants of the bus injured, according to the San Luis Obispo Tribune. Josh Turner and his band were riding in a separate bus and were not injured.

David’s death was confirmed on Thursday by the California Highway Patrol. The Daily Journal confirmed through a family friend that David Turner was a native of Bruce and there’s no relation to Josh Turner. He worked with sound, lighting and stage set up as part of the country music star’s tour crew.

Josh Turner Bus Accident – Josh Turner Bus Crash

The San Luis Obispo Tribune reported that country singer Josh Turner’s tour bus which was carrying members of his road crew drove off a 50-foot cliff late Wednesday night, killing one and injuring seven others. According to the California Highway Patrol the crash happened at 11:40 p.m. on Highway 46 East east of McMillan Canyon Road in San Luis Obispo County. The bus was driving east in the right, slow lane of the highway at about 55 to 60 mph.

The bus was pulling an equipment before it drove through a barbed-wire fence and dense vegetation for about 200 yards before it drove off the cliff. The front of the bus then crashed into the bottom of a dry riverbed. Two people were ejected from the bus, and one of them was killed.

The other person who was ejected and six other occupants on the bus received moderate to severe injuries and were taken to hospitals. The investigation into the collision is ongoing.

Following the crash Josh has postponed the rest of his September tour dates. Universal Music Group Nashville said in a statement to The Tribune.
