Gwen Acorah & Derek Acorah
Gwen Acorah and Derek Acorah celebrated their wedding in 1995. His wife has been beside him in his short term illness that led to his death.
Prior to their marriage, Acorah was married to Rachel Walker from 1984 to 1990.
Acorah together with his wife Gwen was a patron for the charity Pathfinder Guide Dog Programme, a registered charity that provides seeing dogs for blind people.
Gwen wrote a tribute on Facebook to her husband following his death which reads; “Farewell my love! I will miss you forever! I’m devastated to announce that my beloved husband Derek has passed away after a very brief illness.”
“Thank you so much to everybody who has supported me – I can never thank you enough.”
She then lashed out: “To the vile couple who hounded him for responses to their ridiculous campaign whilst he was in Intensive Care in a coma, I hope you have the decency to hang your heads in shame. I have things to deal with now but I won’t forget nor will I forgive what you have done!”
Derek was under investigation months before he died for a series of Facebook posts on his official page. The self-styled medium was the subject of a probe by the Advertising Standards Authority last September after three complaints were lodged against his account.
