Dylan Bennett is 22-year-old Ex NFL  for eleven seasons for the New York Jets, New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings who is wanted by authorities after his parents were found dead in the town of Long Prairie, Minnesota on August 21st, 2019.

Dylan Bennett Parents Found Dead

On August 23rd, the couple’s son, 22-year-old Dylan Bennett, was charged with two counts of second-degree murder, without premeditation, in connection with the killings of his parents Barry Bennett, 63, and Carol Bennett, 66. Investigators determined that the couple was killed on August 19th; Carol was shot multiple times in the back and torso, while Barry was shot multiple times in the head and torso.

Todd County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that he is believed to have taken his mother’s car and traveled to Columbus, Ohio, from where he boarded a flight to Cancun, Mexico. Barry had told the Todd County Sheriff’s Office in December 2018 that Dylan had expressed thoughts about killing his parents while he was in a mental health treatment facility.

Barry Bennett was a native of St. Paul, Minnesota. The town of Long Prairie is located two hours north of Minneapolis and has a population of 3,500. Dylan Bennett had been living with his parents at the time of their deaths. Barry and Carol Bennett had four children together, two, including Dylan, were adopted.

The police were called to Barry and Carol Bennett’s home after friends hadn’t heard from the couple for over 24 hours. Anybody with any information regarding Dylan Bennett’s whereabouts to contact authorities in Minnesota. Dylan Bennett is thought to have fled the state. According to, WCCO, the FBI has been called in to assist in the investigation.

A look at Dylan Bennett’s Facebook page reveals that he is a recent graduate from Bemidji State University. According to the Pioneer-Press, Dylan Bennett was about to move to China for work. Dylan Bennett had been studying at Bemidji for four years, he said on his LinkedIn page.

The police initially believed that Bennett could be driving a blue 2018 Hyundai with Minnesota plates readinG BCK-487 but that car was later recovered. The statement from the Todd County sheriff said, “Based on information gathered during the investigation, it is determined that there is no threat to public safety at this time.”
