Joshua Holt Hamilton was born on May 21st, 1981. He is an American former professional baseball outfielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Cincinnati Reds (2007), Texas Rangers (2008-2012, 2015), and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (2013–2014). Hamilton is a five-time MLB All-Star and won the American League Most Valuable Player Award (MVP) in 2010.

After multiple knee injuries ended his MLB career, Hamilton told the Associated Press that while he does miss playing some days, his focus is now on his daughters, and sometimes coaches his daughters’ softball games.
He said, “I’ve been making up for lost time with my girls, being Dad. Got a ranch towards College Station, spending time there. Hadn’t really thought much of baseball. It’s one of the things where I never cared too much about watching the game, but I loved playing it more than anything.”

Hamilton is being charged on an allegation of injury to a child, a 3rd-degree felony, and turned himself on Wednesday, October 30, at the Tarrant County Courthouse. His bail was set at $35,000, with part of the conditions being that he is banned from having contact with one of his daughters, which was then expanded to include any child under the age of 17.
As per court documents obtained by TMZ, his daughter alleges that Hamilton threw a full bottle of water using an overhand motion into her chest and that he was swearing and yelling at her before grabbing a chair and throwing it at her.
The daughter further claims Hamilton grabbed her by the shoulders and yanked her to the ground, which caused an injury to her hip, before pinning her down and hitting her legs with “an open hand and a closed fist.”
Hamilton’s alleged that afterward, he said, “I hope you go in front of the f***ing judge and tell him what a terrible dad I am so I don’t have to see you anymore and you don’t even have to come to my house again.” Reports indicate that it is her 14-year-old, Sierra Hamilton who was allegedly physically abused.

In 2015, Hamilton’s relapse involved cocaine.
