Josh Ruff, an 11-year-old teen passed away from an asthma attack during a community basketball game. The incident has left the Surf Coast community devasted by the sudden death of a promising young lad. The Surf Coast Shire is a local government area in the Barwon South West region of Victoria and it is located in the south-western part of the state.

He was the son of Aaron Ruff and Mel Ruff. Aaron is a former Torquay Bowls Club member and Business Manager. The 11-year-old boy was part of the Bellbrae School community in Victoria Australia.

A GoFundMe account has been created on behalf of the Ruff family to ease the burden and give them time to heal the tragic loss.

On the Crowdfunding page, Josh is described as an 11-year-old son and brother to Mel, Aaron, and Annabelle. The cause of death has been listed as an asthma attack at a basketball game on Wednesday, March 9, 2020.

Jodie Kenizrom while sharing the GoFundMe page on her Facebook requested members of the community to support the Ruff family’s work through the tragic loss of their son. “A gorgeous boy gone too soon, he will be forever missed, a beautiful soul that touched so many people, he was a ray of sunshine, ” Jodie wrote in the post.

She went on to state that no words can help ease the excruciating pain for the family as they come to terms with the loss. Scott Stephens while sending words of encouragement to the family wrote that he is shattered for the Ruff family. He went on to request everyone at the very least to take a moment and reflect on life’s fragility.
