Kaleb Boateng, a former Clemson and Florida lineman, is reported to have passed away at 21, per a statement released on Friday, Feb 20, 2023. Although details surrounding his yet to be released, multiple sources confirm that Kaleb Boateng’s cause of death resulted from suicide.

The Clemson lineman played for the Tigers from 2019 to 2020 and later joined the Gators football team in the summer of 2021.

Kaleb Boateng, hailing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, transferred back to his home state to join the Florida Gators as a preferred walk-on. Unfortunately, he did not see any game action in 2021 and was not a part of the team the previous season, despite participating in both spring and fall camps where he switched positions to play on the defensive line.

During his senior year at Fort Lauderdale High School, Kaleb was recognized as a first-team All Broward 6A-8A selection by both the Miami Herald and Sun Sentinel. He was a key player on the offensive line, with 49 knockdown blocks to his name, and contributed to his team’s impressive 9-3 record; the most wins for the program since 1974.

In the lead-up to signing day, Kaleb Boateng received a scholarship offer from Coach Swinney and signed with the eventual national champion Clemson team in December 2018. The talented 6-foot-4, 285-pound offensive lineman played in five games while at Clemson, logging 26 career snaps. Recognizing his hard work and dedication, Kaleb was honored as a selection for the ACC Honor Roll in 2019.
