Kent Mitchell, MD is a pain medicine expert working at the Texas Pain Institute. He is also best known for being the husband of Grace Mitchell who is on for her HGTV’s hit series, One of a Kind. The show is a different kind of home renovation show that focuses on her client’s stories instead of beautifully curated Pinterest boards by turning out completed projects. Grace is also a language therapist who is completely fluent in ASL.

Kent graduated with a biomedical science bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University as per his biography. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center.
Kent also spent 9 years completing his internship, residency, and two fellowships and pain medicine at the John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas.
He went to Dallas Theological Seminary for a Master of Arts (M.A.), Media Arts and Worship for 9 years, from 2007 to 2014 as per his Linkedin. Confirming his graduation on May 10, 2015, his wife Grace shared a photon on his graduation of the family of 6 with the caption, “For nine years, my husband has been in seminary. He persevered through school during the years he was working 80+ hours a week, through the births of our four children, a few moves, and the ups and downs life has brought our way. He didn’t want to make a big deal of his graduation, but I feel so proud of him, and one phrase that keeps coming to mind is, “we did it!” On to the next chapter…”
Kent Mitchell Career
He has also organized and participated in medical mission trips to The Philippines and Trinidad and Tobago, set up clinics in Juarez, Mexico, and participated in a mobile clinic in rural Venezuela.
Kent writes in his bio that he is driven in his work by helping patients understand their diagnosis and advising and encouraging them on the path forward.

Grace and Kent Mitchell were married on March 12, 2005. On their 10th wedding anniversary, Grace shared a photo of the wedding writing in the caption, “Ten years ago today…how can it be? I feel so grateful that I got to marry someone I was more compatible with than I deduced when we got married. Three home renovations, four kids, and lots and lots of school later, we make each other better, and there is no one else whose team I would rather be on.”
The couple lives together in Fort Worth, Texas, and are parents to their four children whom Grace occasionally shares on her social media platform.
