Lenny Reich, best known as Mount Union Assistant Director and Sports Information Director, has passed away as per a statement released on his official social media platforms on Oct 17, 2022. He was 49 years old and was suffering from Cancer. He is survived by his wife, Helen L. Reich, his daughter, and a brother, Joe Reich, among others.

Reich was worked at Mount Union since 2008 and has been in the Sports department for 25 years. He won multiple awards and was inducted into (CoSIDA) College Sports Information Directors of America Hall of Fame in June 2022.
Reich was an at-large representative on CoSIDA’s executive board of directors. He was the second College Division individual in CoSIDA history to serve as an at-large representative.
Reich was the former president of the Division III Sports Information Directors Association and a past member of CoSIDA’s Academic All-America Committee. He was also a former member of the NCAA Sportsmanship and Game Environment working group, a past chair of the NCAA Division III Women’s Tennis Central Region Committee, and a past chair of the Ohio Athletic Conference SID task force.
Among his honors, Reich received CoSIDA’s 2019 Warren Berg Award, the organization’s highest college division award recognizing outstanding commitment and service to athletic communications. In addition to his hall of fame recognition at CoSIDA’s June convention, Reich will also receive a 25-year award.

Reich died from cancer on Oct 17, 2022, at the age of 49, per a statement released by his family on his official social media platforms. He had been suffering from cancer for some time, and her health rapidly deteriorated during the last weeks of her life.
In a Facebook post, his brother Joe Reich wrote, “Update on my brother (LENNY REICH 1973-2022).
I regret to inform everyone the battle is over; Lenny passed away this morning. He fought the good fight right up to the end and will be missed by so many. I don’t have the words to explain the loss his family is suffering with. He was a great man and will be missed by so many.
I will post when all arrangements are made so we can honor his memory.”
