Alexis Alijai Lynch was a Minnesota–born rapper who released two albums: 2015’s Joseph’s Coat and Growing Pains. She died on January 1, 2019 although the cause of her death has not been revealed yet.

Lexii’s father was Roger Troutman Lynch Jr who was a rapper and musical artist. He died at the age of 33 in 2003.
Her grandfather was Roger Troutman who was a founder of the Dayton, Ohio, band Zapp which featured funk music and influenced West Coast hip hop through music sampling. He died on April 25, 1999 after he was shot several times outside a recording studio in Dayton, Ohio, around 7 a.m.

Alexis died attended the Creative Arts Secondary School in downtown St. Paul. She later joined Como Park Senior High School before transferring to Creative Arts Secondary School. She later dropped out to pursue a full-time career in music.

Lexii began her career rapping over songs like Bryson Tiller’s “Exchange,” Meek Mill’s “Cold Hearted” and Drake’s “Girls Love Beyonce.” In 2016 she released her first mixtape, Super Sweet 16s, in celebration of her sixteenth birthday. She then collaborated with Rocky Diamonds on an extended play, titled 3 Days.
She released her first full-length debut studio album, Growing Pains on September 8, 2017. She covered topics such as dropping out of school and maintaining a relationship with her ex-boyfriend’s mother.

Lexii Alijai Kehlani
Lexii and singer Kehlani were friends they were first introduced by a mutual friend through Twitter. She had a guest appearance on “You Should Be Here,” which was on Kehlani’s debut album. She also opened for Kehlani at the Fine Line in February.
The two collaborated on Kehlani’s 2015 song Jealous. In 2017 during an interview with GoRadioMN Alijai said of meeting Kehlani, “The power of Twitter. We had a mutual friend who heard my music and then she sent me the ‘Jealous’ record. I wrote it during lunchtime, recorded it and sent it right back.”
After Alijai’s death Kehlani posted an emotional tribute on Instagram; “I’m so sick. I’m so angry. I’m confused and my heart is broken. I don’t know why this happened. I don’t know what you’ve ever done but be brilliant, kind, strong, gentle, compassionate.
You got my heart on the floor right now Lex. You were such a star to me because every word you spoke was true. Every word you wrote was honest. You asked questions with wide eyes, you laughed and covered your mouth cuz you was always so shy even tho everyone who ever seen you said you was so damn gorgeous.
You was supposed to go take over the world Lex. You was supposed take home the trophies and hang the plaques up. I won’t forget the late night drives or the hotel nights I won’t forget u playing in my makeup I won’t forget a thing. Why it had to be like this. I love you sis. so much. huggin yo family.”
Lexii Alijai Death
Lexii Alijai died on January 1, 2019. Her death was confirmed by her cousin Raeisah Clark who posted on Facebook. “I’m so lost for words…my beautiful cousin with so much talent & Unique soul Lexii Alijai It’s too soon.”
LaMycha Jett, who identified herself as a family member, wrote; “They say don’t question God, but damn why you baby. This thing called life is crazy as hell. My heart is broken, the tears won’t stop. I’m trynna hold it together… I love you more then you’ll ever know. I can’t focus. I can’t concentrate, I’m numb.”
