Luke Knox, a college football player, best known as the brother of Bill’s tight end Dawson Knox, died at 22.
Luke was a player for Florida International, and the school confirmed his death on Thursday, August 18, 2022. He was a native of Brentwood, Tennessee and was born in 1999. He spent the past four seasons at ole Miss before transferring to FIU, where he studied business. FIU opens its season on Sept. 1 against Bryant.

Luke’s brother, Dawson Alan Knox, was born on November 14, 1996. He is an American football tight end for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Ole Miss. He is yet to release a statement on his brother’s death.
Luke Knox Death & Cause
Luke’s death has not been released at the moment, although most leads point to suicide. Police say there is no suspicion of foul play. Although his death was confirmed on Thursday, he died on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at 22.
IU coach Mike MacIntyre wrote on social media, “Words cannot express the heartfelt sorrow we feel because of the passing of our teammate and friend, Luke Knox. I had the honor of coaching Luke at Ole Miss and FIU. While I admired his passion for football, his genuine love for his family and teammates is what I will always remember.”
“We are incredibly saddened to hear of the passing of Luke Knox ’18,” Brentwood Academy wrote. “Luke was a faithful friend, a diligent student, and an ideal teammate. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Knox family and his many loved ones who mean so much to our BA community.”
Buffalo Bills wrote, “We’re heartbroken to hear of the sudden passing of Luke Knox.
