Maxim Gareyev is a Russian man who has confessed to murdering Instagram influencer, Ekaterina Karaglanova whose body was found stuffed in a suitcase in her apartment in Moscow.

Maxim Gareyev Allegedly Killed Ekaterina Karaglanov

It is alleged that Gareyev confessed to murdering Ekaterina Karaglanova after she insulted his ‘sexual prowess and earning power.’

A video shows Gareyev confessing to the murder after meeting her for sex. He said; I stabbed her with a knife at least five times around her neck and chest.’

Asked if he now regretted this he replied: ‘I do and I will help the investigation.’

Gareyev was apparently jealous because Ekaterina had been packing suitcase to go on a trip to Amsterdam to mark her 25th birthday with a wealthier lover aged 52. It is alleged that Ekaterina called him poor as Gareyev had recently lost his job. This lead to him loosing it and using a knife to kill her.

He then cleaned up the apartment and packed bloodstained clothing and the murder weapon into a smaller suitcase belonging to Semochkina. He took the suitcase out of the flat and disposed of it in a bin.

Ekaterina Karaglanov Death

Ekaterina Karaglanov was a Russian Instagram influencer who was found dead with her throat slit inside a suitcase in her Moscow apartment on July 26, 2019. This after relatives told the police they had not heard from her in several days.

Her body was found inside a large suitcase with stab wounds to her neck and chest while wearing only lace garters.

The detectives said that they found no signs of a struggle inside Karaglanova’s apartment and have not located the weapon believed to have been used in the slaying. According to reports she had begun a new relationship with an older man and was planning to travel to the Netherlands to celebrate her 25th birthday on Tuesday.

According to investigators, Karaglanova’s former boyfriend was spotted on security cameras visiting the woman’s apartment for several hours in the days leading up to her disappearance.

According to reports Ekaterina had concerns for her safety earlier this year. A friend called Oksana told KP newspaper: ‘She wrote that she could be killed. But I was comforting her, [telling her] that they would do nothing to her. I cannot believe that Katya [Ekaterina] not here any more.’
