Mike Davis is 50-year-old meteorologist with 10TV/WBNS in Columbus, Ohio and is in the headlines in accusation of possessing child pornography by Franklin County Sheriff’s Office in Columbus. Mike Davis was put behind bars at his home in Upper Arlington Thursday morning, September 5th, 2019. He faces charges are pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, a second-degree felony.
Ohio’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force received a tip regarding Davis’s internet activity. They executed a search warrant on Davis’ home Thursday morning seeking electronic devices including computers, laptops and tablets. After searching Davis’ home, authorities came to WBNS and seized Davis’ personal laptop and four thumb drives from his bag.
On August 5th, Davis knowingly advertised for sale or dissemination, sell, distribute, transport, an image of a young girl participating or engaging in sexual activity as per court documents.
Davis was booked into the Franklin County Jail pending arraignment in Franklin County Municipal Court on Friday, September 6. If convicted on all charges, Davis could face up to eight years behind bars.
Following Davis’ arrest, WBNS said in a statement, “At around 10 a.m. this morning, we learned that Mike Davis was arrested by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. We are currently learning more about the details and we will be reporting more about the story. We have no further comment at this time.”
According to CNN, The alleged crimes are punishable by up to eight years in prison and a $15,000 fine, Baldwin said at the press conference.
He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday, September 6th at 9 a.m. in Franklin County Municipal Court
