Kirilly (nee Brumby) Dutton is the wife of Peter Dutton, an Australian Liberal Party politician serving as Minister for Home Affairs since 2017, and has served as Member of Parliament for Dickson since 2001.

On 13th March 2020, Dutton announced that he tested positive for COVID-19, becoming one of the first high-profile cases of the pandemic in Australia. Earlier in March 2020, he had travelled to Washington, D.C. in the United States for a meeting of Five Eyes security ministers.

She currently operates and owns the Camelia Avenue Childcare Centre in Everton Hills, as well as Bald Hills Childcare Centre, both in Brisbane’s north-west as er the Daily Mail.

Prion to meeting Mr Dutton, she was working 14-hour days as a personal assistant for recruitment magnate ­Sarina Russo.

The pair were first introduced by a friend of Kirilly’s who was then in a relationship with Liberal MP, Ross Vasta.
Dutton married Kirilly (nee Brumby) in July 2003 in a romantic Italian affair, after what she described to the Courier Mail as a slow-burning romance.
‘He’s more romantic than me. He buys the gift baskets and the flowers. There’s a ­perception out there that he’s fairly serious and hard-line. But he loves a joke,’ Kirilly told The Courier Mail this week.
Mr Dutton first married at the age of 22 in 1992, but the union lasted just a few months. He later fathered Rebecca with another woman in 2002, before meeting his future wife.

Peter and Kirilly Dutton reportedly purchased six properties in recent years as per the Mail. They include a $2.3 million luxurious beach-front apartment on the Gold Coast’s so-called ‘Millionaires Row’, purchased in 2015.  The home now yields a reported $1,300 a week in rent.

The couple also paid $760,000 for a retail shopping centre in Townsville in 2017. They have two other homes occupied by tenants – one on the Sunshine State and another in Canberra.

Peter Craig Dutton was born on 18th November 1970. He is an Australian Liberal Party politician serving as Minister for Home Affairs since 2017 and has served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Dickson since 2001. Dutton served as Minister for Health and Sport from 2013 to 2014, and Minister for Immigration from 2014 to 2017 in the Abbott and Turnbull Government.

On 18th July 2017, he was named Minister for Home Affairs and officially appointed by the Governor-General on 20 December 2017 to lead the Department of Home Affairs, a newly created portfolio giving him oversight of ASIO, the AFP, and Border Force. He previously served as Minister for Workforce Participation and Minister for Revenue and Assistant Treasurer in the Howard Government.

In the first August 2018 spill, he challenged Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull for the leadership of the Liberal Party but was defeated by 48 votes to 35. In the aftermath of the spill, Dutton announced his resignation from the Second Turnbull Ministry and rejected an invitation from Turnbull to remain in the Cabinet. In the second leadership contest, Dutton was defeated by Treasurer and Acting Home Affairs Minister Scott Morrison by 45 votes to 40. Following the appointment of Scott Morrison as the new Prime Minister on 24 August by the Governor-General, Dutton was re-appointed home affairs minister in the Morrison Government but relinquished his duties and responsibilities for immigration and border protection.
