Ricoh McClain has been identified as the man accused of fatally stabbing and killing Kevin Davis outside the Oxon Hill Popeye’s Chicken restaurant when he cut to the front of a line to get dibs on Popeyes’ popular chicken sandwich.

During a news conference, Prince George’s County Police Chief Hank Stawinski told reporters that Davis entered the restaurant and started “methodically” cutting a line reserved for the menu item. McClain confronted Davis when he cut to the front of the line, according to the police chief.
“Over the course of 15 minutes, this individual works his way methodically ahead of everybody else in that line, is confronted by this individual and then from the moment of that confrontation, 15 seconds later, the two of them are out in front of the store, a stabbing occurs and an individual’s life is lost.”
Police said that preliminary investigation revealed that Davis and McClain got into a brief verbal argument. They both then got out of the line and walked out the front door together before McClain stabbed Davis.
Police said Davis was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. McClain was with a woman at the time of the incident and they fled the parking lot in a vehicle immediately following the stabbing. Police said it did not appear that McClain and Davis were associated with each other before Monday’s fight.
After Kevin’s death, Popeyes spokesperson said in a statement to ABC News that the company was “very sad to hear about the tragedy.”
“We do not yet know whether this was the result of a dispute over one of our products or something unrelated, but there is no reason for someone to lose their life on a Monday night in a parking lot. Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends and we are fully cooperating with local authorities.”
Ricoh McClain Charges
According to police report, McClain is charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and reckless endangerment. The police also said he is considered armed and dangerous.
Ricoh McClain Arrest
McClain has not been arrested yet but on November 12 the Prince George’s County Police Department released a photo of McClain. They revealed his last known address as the 5500 block of Marlboro Pike in District Heights.
“The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit today released the name of the man wanted for a fatal stabbing outside of an Oxon Hill fast food restaurant last week. He is 30-year-old Ricoh McClain. His last known address is the 5500 block of Marlboro Pike in District Heights. He’s charged with fatally stabbing 28-year-old Kevin Tyrell Davis of Oxon Hill. Anyone who knows McClain’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or detectives at 301-772-4925.
On November 4th, at approximately 7:00 pm, patrol officers were called to the fast food restaurant in the 6200 block of Livingston Road for the report of a fight. They discovered Davis outside in the parking lot suffering from a single stab wound. He died a short time later at an area hospital.
