Robert “Bobby” E. Crimo III is a 22-year-old who has been identified as the suspected Highland Park parade shooter. He was arrested around 6:30 pm local time as per CBS News. Officials confirming his arrest said that he was stopped after a brief pursuit and is being taken to the Highland Park Police Department. He was driving a 2010 Silver Honda Fit with the license plate IL DM80653.
He stands at 5’11” according to an FBI wanted poster and weighs around 120. Bobby also has several tattoos including four tally marks with a line through them on his right cheek and a cursive script about his left eyebrow. The Monday shooting left six dead and at least 21 injured.
Highland Park Shooting
The shooting happened as 10mins after the start of the parade in honour f the Fourth of July. When the shooting began hundreds of people fled in different directions terrified for their lives. Highland police believe the shooter scaled a ladder in an alley to access the roof of a business and then proceeded to open fire at parade-goers.
“He was very discreet and very difficult to see,” Lake County Major Crimes Task Force spokesman Chris Covelli said.
Shortly after the shooting, authorities recovered a “high-powered rifle” believed to have been used in the mass shooting.

His parents used to own a deli shop in Highland Park. His father’s name is Robert Crimo and his mom’s name is Denise Crimo. Bobby’s father ran for the Highland Park mayoral position in 2019. A look at his Facebook post showed a Nov. 28, 2018 photo of Bob Crimo in front of the City of Highland Park office and a caption that hailed him as “a person for the people” He lost the race of mayor back then.
The shooter’s mother is a holistic wellness practitioner, according to her Instagram account. Her personal Instagram account shows photos of the alleged shooter as a young boy.
