Motorcycle stuntman Alex Harvill is being reported to have died on Thursday, June 17th while attempting to break a world record. He was 28. The motorcyclist was trying to achieve the Guinness World Record for Longest Motorcycle Ramp Jump at the 2021 Moses Lake Airshow in Washington State, the organizers said in a Facebook post on Wednesday. The jump required Harvill to land past the current record of 351 feet.

Moses Lake’s very own Alex Harvill will be attempting to break the GUINNESS World Record of the Longest Motorcycle Ramp Jump (current record 106.98 m/ 351 ft held by Robbie Maddison) at our 2021 Moses Lake Airshow on June 17th. Gates will be opening at 9:00 AM (PST) and Alex will begin his jump at 10:00 AM (PST). The record-breaking jump will need to be over 351 ft, the same length as a Football field, goal post to goal post!”

Alex Harvill was born in 1992 in Corona California. He was currently residing in Ephrata Washington. Sporting 155 LBS and standing 5’6.” Some of Alex’s career highlights include a world record ramp to dirt to distance jump of 425’ (May 12, 2012) in Toes Motocross Park – Royal City Washington.
The stuntman still holds the Guinness World Record for the Longest Dirt To Dirt Motorcycle Ramp Jump with a distance of 297 feet. He accomplished the record-breaking jump in July 2013.
How did Stuntman Alex Harvill die? His Family’s Statement
In a video obtained by TMZ, the stuntman crashed just shy of the landing dirt mound and tumbled off his bike during a practice run. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Harvill had died after being taken to the hospital, adding that the Grant County Coroner’s Office “will conduct an autopsy on Friday, June 18th to confirm the cause and manner of death, which is normal procedure.”
“His family has been notified,” the Sherriff’s Office wrote. “Our deepest sympathies go out to Alex’s family, friends, and loved ones.”
