Tazne van Wyk is an 8-year-old girl who went missing on Friday, February 7th and found dead on Thursday morning February 20th. Her body was found in a stormwater pipe outside Worcester, Western Cape police.
Tazne van Wyk Suspected Killer & Kidnapper – Moyhdian Pangarker
A suspect connected to her disappearance, Moyhdian Pangarker, was arrested in the Eastern Cape on transported back to Cape Town on a kidnapping charge. He led detectives to the gruesome discovery late on Wednesday evening, said Brigadier Novela Potelwa.
She said the 54-year-old man would be charged with murder and is expected to appear in the Goodwood Magistrate’s Court on Friday, February 20th.
A police source connected to the case said that the suspect was arrested by the Western Cape Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offences Unit, together with Crime intelligence in Cradock.
“As the investigation unfolds, the possibility of the suspect facing additional charges cannot be ruled out,” she said.

Tazne van Wyk’s parents are Terence Manuel, her dad and Carmen van Wyk, her mother. The parents were informed of the discovery and they are receiving counselling.” Tazne’s heartbroken father, Terence Manuel, said that the joy of finding out that the suspect was arrested was short-lived.

Moyhdian Pangarker Criminal History
According to Correctional Services spokesperson, Singabakho Nxumalo, the suspect is a convicted criminal and was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment for culpable homicide in 2008.

Following his release on parole in October 2016, he was placed under correctional supervision at the Ladismith Community Corrections Centre.
“(He) was declared an absconder on February 6th, 2019, as he could not be located following various visits at his residence. A criminal case was then opened against him at the local SAPS”.
“On Wednesday, February 5, 2020, a DCS official in Ladismith was contacted by Ladismith SAPS, indicating that (he) must appear before the Worcester Court on February 6th, 2020. “The matter could not proceed as (he) did not pitch for his court appearance,” Nxumalo said.
