The woman was a nurse on her way to work when her vehicle became stuck in high water on Orange Avenue during the Hurricane Ian flooding.
Wesh reported that Atkins and his crew had been at the intersection for a while and were aware of how deep the water was. They noticed the woman waving, and Atkins rushed into the deep waters to rescue her.
