Kobe died on January 26, 2020 after the helicopter he was flying in crashed in Calabasas, California. According to Los Angeles Times, the helicopter crashed and burst in flames Sunday morning amid foggy conditions in the hills above Calabasas.

According to a watch commander for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department the crash occurred shortly before 10 a.m. near Las Virgenes Road, south of Agoura Road. Four others including his daughter were on board.

We have been in contact with the NTSB and stand ready to provide assistance and support to the investigative authorities and our customer.”
