Wendy Anderson was the wife of Blake Anderson who is an American football coach and former player. He is the head coach of the Arkansas State Red Wolves football team. He previously served as the North Carolina Tar Heels offensive coordinator in 2012 and 2013.

In 2017 Wendy was diagnosed with triple-negative stage four breast cancer. She underwent multiple treatments but in March 2019 Blake announced that the treatment did not work and the cancer had spread to her liver, lungs and lymph nodes.

Wendy Anderson Death
Wendy died on August 19, 2019, her death was announced by her husband Blake who released a statement on Twitter which read; “My beautiful girl has gone home to be with Jesus … no more pain, no more suffering, and praise Him no more cancer. She passed as peacefully & gracefully as you could ever hope just a few minutes before midnight with me laying right beside her. I have been so blessed to have her by my side each day for the past 27 years. Thank you so much to all who have walked, prayed, cried, and loved her through this brutal 2 year battle… Praise Him that she hurts no more, and is in His presence now & forever.”

Prior to Wendy’s death, Arkansas State Athletics Department had issued a statement announcing that Blake was taking a leave of absence “during this difficult time to be with his wife, Wendy, and his family.”
