Cailin Foster, a student from the University of Dayton is being reported to have passed away as per a statement by the Institution. Members of the University were notified on Wednesday afternoon, November 10, about the death of a graduate student and Air Force Lieutenant.
Foster was a first-year Masters of Business Administration student and was stationed at the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Foster who was from Monument, Colorado, was a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy (2017 – 2021) and rose to the rank of Second Lieutenant in the Air Force as per her Linkedln.

Foster has extensive Air Force background. Her father, a 1986 Camanche High graduate, attended the Air Force Academy and spent more than 20 years in the Air Force.
Her maternal grandpa served as a Marine pilot during the Vietnam War. During World War II, her grandpa wanted to fly, but his vision stopped him from doing so, so he acquired a degree in aeronautics engineering instead.

The university did not release details on Foster’s death. News Center 7 has reached out to AFRL representatives for additional details and we’re awaiting a response. She is the third UD student to pass away in the last week.
On Saturday, November 6, UD announced the passing of Franco Patino, 21, of Naperville, Illinois who died in the Astroworld concert tragedy in Houston on November 5. Another student, Parker Spindle, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, died on Saturday, and his death was also communicated to campus members.
Foster will be remembered during UD’s annual Veterans Day Mass, which will happen Thursday, November 11 at the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception.
