Sophie de Stempel was the fourth wife of Ian Holm, an English actor on stage and in film. It is being reported that her husband has died in hospital on 19 June 2020 at the age of 88. He had been battling Parkinson’s disease for a number of years.

Sophie de Stempel and Ian Holm celebrated their wedding in 2003. Holm had five children; three daughters (Jessica, Sarah-Jane and Melissa) and two sons (Barnaby and Harry) from three women, including the first two of his four wives. He had a grandson called Archie.

On June 19, 2020, it was announced that Sir Ian had passed away. A representative for the actor confirmed he passed away in hospital from an illness related to Parkinson’s disease. The rep told The Guardian: “It is with great sadness that the actor Sir Ian Holm CBE passed away this morning at the age of 88.
“He died peacefully in hospital, with his family and carer. Charming, kind and ferociously talented, we will miss him hugely.”
Sophie wrote on her Instagram page, “With great sadness, the wonderful lam Holm died today.”
