Klaus Schulze, a German electronic music pioneer, composer, and musician is being reported to have passed away on April 26, 2022, at the age of 74. He also used the alias Richard Wahnfried and released several singles under that name. Klaus was briefly a member of the Krautrock bands Tangerine Dream, Ash Ra Tempel, and The Cosmic Jokers before launching a solo career consisting of more than 60 albums released across five decades.
Klaus will be remembered for the countless albums he released over the course of five decades. He released some music under his own name and his Richard Wahnfried alias. He also released multiple collaborations with Dead Can Dance’s Lisa Gerrard and was a member of Tangerine Dream, Asha Ra Temple, The Cosmic Jokers, and Go.

Klaus Schulze leaves behind a huge musical legacy and is survived by his wife, two adult sons, and four grandchildren. One of his known sons who confirmed Klaus’s death is named Maximilian Schulze.
In the 90s, when he was he had already released around 30 records, Klaus said that e and his wife were retiring to Costa Rica. He said at the time that e always wanted to live there and would not take anything with them.

The German composer who will also be remembered as an electronic music pioneer passed away after a long illness as per a statement on his official Facebook page.
“It is with deep sorrow we have to inform you that Klaus yesterday on 26th. April 2022 at the age of 74 after a long illness, yet suddenly and unexpectedly passed away, the statement by Maximilian Schulze released on behalf of the family reads.
“Not only does he leave a great musical legacy, but also a wife, two sons, and four grandchildren.”
“On behalf of him and the family, we would like to thank you for your loyalty and support throughout the years – it has meant a lot! His music will live on and so will our memories.”
